John D. Rockefeller once said that “Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.”
John Davison Rockefeller was an American business magnate and philanthropist.
He is widely considered the wealthiest American of all time, and the richest person in modern history.
The above quote is a product of the way John (the richest person in modern history) thinks.
And I prepare this article thinking why would John D. Rockefeller thinks like this, also why do we need to have this mindset of the wealthiest man in modern history.
From my research, I realized that we are captivated and fascinated with our present success, especially when people give compliment like.
“Oh that is good!”
“Wow! You are the best”
It makes us feel good and we are happy about it, to the extent that we forget to ask ourselves these following question.
It is good, but could it great?
Well I’m the best, but can I still be better than the best?
It’s good to appreciate yourself but don’t forget to ask yourself these above questions.
Asking yourself these above questions help you not to get stuck building a bungalow when you have the potential to build a palace.
It helps you not to keep your business operating national when it has the potential to operate internationally.
It helps you to unleashed and maximize all your potential, and truth be told you have unspeakable and undescribable potentials in you.
There is more greatness inside of you, more than you could ever imagine or think about.
And it would manifest one after the other. So believe me whatever level of greatness you are presently, it is just the start.
So don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.
Remember you were not born to be good but to be great!
